iPhone 6 Rumors and News

Almost all reports claim Apple will launch two iPhone 6 models in 2014, one 4.7-inch and another 5.5-inch. This wouldn’t be the first time Apple looks to add a second size to the range; the MacBook, iMac, iPad, and iPod lines all offer variable sizes, the iPhone stands alone.

The iPhone 6 release date momentum has now gathered pace around September 9, an idle Tuesday at the start of the next month. So, if you are looking for a new phone you would like to wait a little bit more to see it and then to decide about your new smartphone.

Suggestions of both sizes arriving September could also hold water, though we've also heard that Apple has had trouble finding appropriate batteries for the 5.5-inch device and that as a result it might even slip into next year.

Other rumors point to a September launch for both sizes, though they do re-iterate that the 5.5-inch model is facing production problems.

According to Reuters, Apple Inc has asked suppliers to manufacture between 70 million and 80 million of its two upcoming large-screen iPhones by the end of the year, its largest initial production run of iPhones, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

Even though Apple CEO Tim Cook hasn’t unveiled the new iPhone 6, accessory company Brikk is already taking pre-orders for its luxurious take on Apple’s next big thing. Aptly named The Lux iPhone 6, Brikk’s new collection includes 14 models that are extravagant versions of the upcoming phone, featuring a unique range of exquisite fabrications.

The iPhone 6 will be disassembled by the Brikk team in a state-of-the-art laboratory located Los Angeles before the “Lux” process begins, with buyers offered the option of coating the device in 24-carat yellow gold, 24-carat pink gold or pure platinum. The bling-obsessed can also add a carat of white diamonds to embellish the Apple logo on the phone back.

Prices range from $4,495 for the plated models, to $8,395 for the plated diamond logo models; all models are packaged in a custom metal box with a user manual and all accessories standard to the device. Each Lux iPhone 6 by Brikk comes with a diamond-embedded certificate of authenticity and an exclusive 1-year warranty.
